Lakeside Gallery Opening: Freshman Art Showcase
In fall 2011 the Lakeside Gallery opened at Lagunita Dining Hall with an exhibit of artwork from 13 incoming freshmen, class of 2015. The gallery is part of the Your Art Here student gallery program at Stanford University.
In the month before the start of fall quarter 2011, SiCa and the Dean of Freshmen's office invited incoming frosh to sign up to display their artwork at the first-ever Freshmen Art Showcase exhibit at the newly launched Lakeside student gallery space. Stanford Dining partnered with SiCa's Your Art Here Program to launch the Lakeside Gallery as a space to display rotating student artwork, 2D and 3D, in the dining hall space. Thirteen incoming freshmen participated in the exhibit, which opened with a late-night reception featuring live music, live art-making, and refreshments provided by Stanford Dining.
