Memorial Hall

Dedication of Memorial Hall

Conceived in 1929 as a memorial to Stanford’s 77 dead from World War I, and designed by Arthur Brown, Jr. in conjunction with Bakewell and Weihe, Memorial Hall was funded principally through student contributions.

Memorial Auditorium is currently one of several performance spaces managed by the Department of Theater and Performance Studies. The others include Pigott Theater, Prosser Studio Theater, the Roble Gymnasium Building dance and rehearsal studios, and the Nitery Theater.
