Weston Gaylord, “Paper Chains: Cultivating Creativity”

Stanford+Connects is a 16-city world tour that brings the best of Stanford University to alumni around the world. Designed as a full afternoon of learning and connecting, attendees meet up with new “classmates” then head to the classroom for micro lectures and seminars taught by top Stanford faculty. Each event offers a broad program with topics tailored to the region’s interests. Current Stanford students mix with local alumni, swapping stories and fostering pride in their Stanford affiliation.

In his talk, Weston Gaylord shares the first stanza of his narrative ballad, The Wake of Benjamin Blue. He shares his story of creative practice with a group of friends to write original work on a regular basis, resulting in more than a thousand pieces of work

Weston Gaylord, ’15, is a senior at Stanford studying human-computer interaction and also works as an actor, director, musician and lyricist.
