Imagined Identities: Resisting Violence in the Caribbean

May 8, 2015 1:30 am - 3:00 am

Location: Bolivar House, 582 Alvarado Row

In this body of work, fine artist Gina Goico explores the dimensions that encompass Latin-Caribbean lives and surroundings. Through paintings, sculptures and performance art, she focuses on the perceptions, contradictions and expectations that emerge from women’s identities living in the Dominican Republic.

This Project is part of the #ATABEY collective, which unites artists and scholars in an effort to produce new aesthetic and theoretical narratives around desire, violence, survival and resistance in Latin America and its diaspora.

Food will be provided.
