Visiting Artist Programs

The visiting artist programs at Stanford University offer opportunities for the world’s leading visual and performing artists to spend time at the university, working with students and taking advantage of the multidisciplinary environment.

Stanford Presidential Residencies on the Future of the Arts bring world renowned artists to Stanford to develop a project and engage with organizations within the Vice Presidency of the Arts, including: Stanford Live, Cantor Arts Center, Anderson Collection, Institute for Diversity in the Arts, and Stanford Arts Institute.

The Stanford Visiting Artist Fund brings artists to the university to integrate into all aspects of the life of the campus, exposing Stanford students no matter what their major to excellence in artistic approaches. Hosted by departments and programs from across the institution, these artists provide a stimulus in artistic thinking and aesthetic perspectives to projects in disciplines from the humanities to the sciences and engineering as well as the arts.

Mohr Visiting Artist Program brings two artists to campus each year for a residency, one in the Department of Music and one in the Department of Theater & Performance Studies.
