Science of Ayurveda

April 13, 2017 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: 140 Comstock Circle, Stanford - Map Link

Free

Ayurveda is an ancient health care tradition that has been practiced in India for at least 5,000 years. The word comes from the Sanskrit terms ayur (life) and veda (knowledge).

Though Ayurveda, or Ayurvedic medicine, was documented in the ancient wisdom texts, Ayurveda has evolved over the years and is now integrated with other traditional practices, including yoga. Health care is a highly individualized practice under Ayurvedic principles, which state that everyone has a specific constitution, or prakrutithat determines his or her physical, physiologic and mental character and disease vulnerability

The workshop will involve a hands-on cooking experience based on Ayurveda, where you will learn to cook a great meal and meet with awesome friends. We will share some simple, healthy and delicious plant-based recipes, as well as information about natural & conscious living.

No previous experience in cooking is necessary. An enthusiasm to learn and hungry appetite to create some delicious food is all that is needed!

Free Dinner will be served. #freefood Walk-in welcome!!
