September 24 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Camera as Witness program presents PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, ARTS AND EMPATHY series

Director/Producer: Dave Iverson
It seems like two disparate realms—one occupied by some of the most acclaimed dancers in the world, people who move for a living, the other occupied by people who often struggle to move, people who have Parkinson’s disease. We followed individuals with Parkinson’s as they prepared to stage a first ever dance performance, under the tutelage of two long-time dancers at the Mark Morris Dance Group. It’s a story about determination, adversity, the transformative power of art, the strength of the human spirit and a remarkable community of dancers who came together to rediscover the meaning of grace.
Please join us for the online panel discussion with the filmmaker Dave Iverson, Stanford University Neurology & Neurological Sciences doctor Kathleen Poston and family nurse practitioner, Karen Kwok, moderated by Jasmina Bojic, Camera as Witness Program – Stanford Arts Director and Founder of the international documentary film festival UNAFF.
