Stanford Arts Prescribing Program – FAQs
Experience
Yes! The Care Navigator will coordinate the logistics for you and your care partner to participate.
At this time, private lessons are not part of the Stanford Arts Prescribing Program.
It depends:
- If the event is ticketed by Stanford Live, then the event may be eligible. The Care Navigator will be able to confirm and arrange tickets.
- If the event is ticketed by AXS or another ticket service (e.g. Ticketmaster), then unfortunately the event cannot be selected as one of your arts engagements. The Care Navigator will help you find another, amazing alternative that's part of the program.
Student Eligibility
Unfortunately, no, not at this time. Participants must be currently enrolled students in order to access an arts prescription and use their doses. If you go on leave after receiving a prescription, your prescription will be paused until you return.
No. The only eligibility requirement is to be a current Stanford student. We welcome all eligible participants to explore the benefits of an arts prescription.
Having a group of friends or peers also participate in the program has the added layer of connection and accountability. However, it's definitely not a requirement to enroll.
The Stanford Arts Prescribing Program does not offer group experiences. While students can coordinate their doses to participate in the same activity as friends/peers, each student receives their own individual prescription to use as best fits their personal needs.
If you are a student leader in a VSO, FSL, or residence, and are curious if arts prescriptions would benefit your community, reach out to a campus prescribing partner to discuss your interest.

-
New, paying patrons. Partnering with SocialRx costs you nothing, now or ever!

Shared mission of leveraging arts, culture, nature and community engagements to benefit individuals' health and well-being
How to Enroll as a Community Partner:
- Review SocialRx's Community Partner Guide & FAQs.
- Complete the SocialRx Community Partnership Interest Form.
- Organizations that are a good fit are those that offer creative, cultural, or outdoor programs on a regular basis.
- All organizations must meet the SocialRx Standards of Care in order to join.
- A member of SocialRx's Community Partnerships Team will reach out to coordinate next steps, including a 1-hour orientation.
- Once onboarded, your events will be included in the SocialRx event registry and are available to be prescribed to Stanford participants.
- Participants typically receive three to five options from their Care Navigator that align with their health goals, interests, accessibility needs, and schedule. Each participant chooses the experience that works best for them from this curated list.
- When a participant selects an activity, the Care Navigator handles ticketing or registration on their behalf, usually through your existing public registration process. In most cases, payment is made at the time of booking, so Community Partners do not need to invoice SocialRx.
