Stanford Arts Prescribing Program

Support your health and well-being with regular engagement in the arts.

About

The Stanford Arts Prescribing Program connects Stanford students with arts & culture activities that support your individual health and well-being goals.

Participants receive an arts prescription which contains 9 “doses” of arts and culture. Each dose is a single engagement for an on campus activity or event (such as attending a concert, participating in a workshop, visiting a museum, etc.). Participants are connected with a Care Navigator who will be there to support you for the duration of your prescription.

Stanford Arts is partnering with Art Pharmacy to offer arts prescriptions to the University community.

Step 2: Care Navigation

Once your referral is submitted, you’ll be contacted by the Art Pharmacy Care Navigator. You will complete a short intake form that will help them to better know your wellness goals and your arts interests. Based on this information, your Care Navigator will match you with arts and culture experiences on campus, referred to as doses. Each participant will receive up to nine doses in their prescription.

Step 4: Check-Ins

Your Care Navigator will remind you about your upcoming arts engagement. They will also check in with you afterwards to find out how it went and have you complete a short questionnaire that helps your Care Navigator match you with arts and culture experiences in a way that is responsive to your needs as they change over time. You can continue to work with the Care Navigator to identify arts engagement activities until your prescription runs out.
