The Burt McMurtry Arts Initiatives Fund offers support to faculty-initiated projects that test new directions and possibilities in the arts at Stanford.

  • Open to all faculty and academic staff.

Faculty Creative Project Seed Grants

Project Grant

Multiyear grants to support creative needs of practicing artists and artist-scholars.

  • Open to Academic Council and Senior Lecturers in any discipline.

VPA Co-Sponsorships

Project Grant

For arts-related projects/events that align with VPA strategic priorities.

  • Open to Department/Program Chairs, Department/Program Financial Managers, and Professional Staff from campus community centers.
  • Students: All funding requests should be made through the Student Arts Grant application.

Looking for information about artsCatalyst Grants?

Starting in 2025-26, the artsCatalyst program will transition to the Stanford Arts Institute (SAI), as part of focused efforts to integrate arts into the curriculum and classroom and foster arts experiences for Stanford students across the arts, humanities, and sciences.
