Art & Season 2: A New Season of Conversations at the Intersection of Art and Science

The unexpected ways art drives innovative and collaborative research throughout the Stanford ecosystem

The first installment of the latest season of Art & opens a wider window into the singular ways art drives inquiry, experimentation, and breakthroughs across Stanford University. Guided by host Ellen Oh, each episode illuminates how artists and their approaches propel new ideas and bold outcomes.

Gastronomy & Mycology. Figure drawing & Reconstructive Surgery. Plankton & Climate Systems. Data & Astrophysics. Through rich conversations at the intersection of disciplines, you’ll hear how creative approaches open up bold new possibilities for research, innovation, and societal impact.

The season premiere features Stanford faculty members Camille Utterback and cosmologist Risa Wechsler, whose collaboration brings together interactive installation, dark-matter simulations, and the vast astronomical imagery soon to stream from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory.

Volume 1 is available now wherever you listen to podcasts—and in video on YouTube.
