Studio
The Studio is a flexible space, equipped with a full sound system, projector, screen and theatrical lights. It features movable mirrors and a flexible wall system for pop-up visual art exhibitions.
We also have a green screen/photo background system with lights for photo shoots in the studio.
- You can use the Studio on a drop-in basis for individual use. Check with the Front Desk Staff for day-of availability.
- All group rehearsals and events require reservations in advance.
- Event requests should be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance.
Music Room
Jam and record in the Music Room! The music room features an electric drum kit, electric keyboard, and electric guitar and a two-person vocal booth.
A training session with one of our RAG Staffers is required to use the vocal booth. Schedule your training here.
- You can use the Music Room on a drop-in basis for individual/small group practice. Check with the Front Desk Staff for day-of availability.
- Drop-in appointments do not include access to the vocal booth.
Community Guidelines
By following these guidelines, we can all ensure that RAG remains a place for all Stanford students to exercise their creativity:
Respect
RAG is a space open to all Stanford students. Art means different things to different people. Respect that your creative process, taste, and boundaries might not match everyone else's. Give honest feedback with care, and assume good intent when someone's approach isn't your own. When perspectives clash, talk it out with curiosity instead of certainty.
Share Generously
Drop-in spaces belong to everyone. Don't monopolize easels, mirrors, or equipment, and vacate reserved rooms on time. If something's tied up, ask the front desk about alternatives or check back later.
Resetting the studio, returning equipment, and cleaning up after yourself isn't just a rule--it's what makes RAG work. Five minutes of cleanup means the next artist creates without friction.
Community Stewardship
RAG is open and ongoing because we trust you to help take care of it. Come here to create and connect, and look out for the space and each other in return.
Our RAG student staff work hard to keep equipment running, answer questions, and create a welcoming environment. If they ask you to wrap up, adjust your volume, or help with something, they're protecting the community. Follow their guidance—it's how we all get to stay here.
We begin the space wind-down process for all spaces in RAG 15 minutes before RAG closes for the day. Please make sure to wrap up your projects and assist RAG student staff as requested. This helps us reset for tomorrow and respects our team's time.
